THE COMMUNITY
Loyalist is a community in that spans an area that includes the community of Amherstview, the Village of Bath and much of South Lennox & Addington County, with a population of over 16,000. Amherstview was first established in the 1950’s, this growing community is only 10 minutes from the City of Kingston, and includes many types of homes, ranging from first time home buyer homes, growing family homes, waterfront homes on Lake Ontario, and retirement communities. Public transportation is provided in partnership with Kingston through the Kingston Transit services. Amherstview is home to various elementary schools, both public and Separate (Amherstview Public School, Fairfield Public School & Our Lady of Mount Carmil Catholic School, Ernestown High School). Also home to the W.J. Henderson Community Centre, which houses the local gym and fitness programs, a 25 m long pool, and full sized indoor rink, along with various before and after school children’s programs, and year round recreational programs. Bath is a community rich in history, having been established in 1784 , has many sites and attractions brimming with free live performances and fun activities that will transport you and your family back in time. Situated 26 km to Kingston, Bath is the host of a wonderful Canada Day celebration every year, and is home to the Bath Museum, several locations of historical significance, the Loyalist Golf & Country Club and Country Club Community and provides access to some of the best freshwater sailing in the world with a marina and Finkel Shore Park.
